Like Poul Henningsen, Panton payed attention to the light rays from the bulb to achieve a glare-free and uniform illumination. The top and the sides of the shade is opal, while the bottom parts of the shade are kept clear to gain optimal downward directed light without creating glare sideways or upwards. Louis Poulsen manufacture mark sits on the underside.
